Pumpple Cake

I want to share something amazing with all of you. The Pumpple cake. Apple and pumpkin pies are baked inside layers of chocolate and vanilla cake! Vanilla buttercream holds the whole thing together.

It's taller than it is in diameter and every inch is packed with love. We make the pie crust from scratch with only real butter, peel and prep the apples and mix up the pumpkin with sugar and spices. Our signature chocolate and vanilla cakes bake up around the pies making each layer one cohesive unit of awesome.

If you've heard of or tried turducken, here is the dessert equivalent. At The Flying Monkey in Reading Terminal Market, we think this cake is going to be the highlight of our entire autumn. Please visit us for a slice or to place an order for a whole cake. We're open M-Saturday 8 to 6pm and Sundays 9 to 5pm.

    Smothering a pie with buttercream would ruin the flakiness of the pie crust. I'll take my pie and cake separately, thank you.

    Just wish they would ship this cake for all to enjoy, or...post the recipe so we can try and recreate it. It sounds absolutely amazing!

    Here here. For those of us living far away, San Francisco for instance, it would be great to see a recipe so we could try it ourselves!

    I've been trying to recreate this today. The only thing I need to know is how long and at what temp you cook the cake with the pie in it!

    My friends and I recreated this in cupcake-minipie form with a recipe on thisiswhyyourefat.com (I think). They turned out amazing. This looks amazing too. :-)

    This thing is phenominal. A 6 inch version is $45 and a 9inch at $75! Need 72 hours but well worth it. Testing it out this weekend. Shoutout to FlyingMonkey!
